NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 31, 2019) – Megan Wiggins and SWINGRAIL have reached an agreement to partner through the National Pro Fastpitch On Player Ad Location (OPAL) program for the 2019 season.
Wiggins, a highly decorated veteran of National Pro Fastpitch, was drafted out of the University of Georgia in 2011, by the Chicago Bandits. She is a two-time Cowles Cup Champion, first as a rookie with the Chicago Bandits in 2011, and most recently with the USSSA Pride in 2018. For the 2013 season, Wiggins proved her commanding prowess as a professional player in being named both the overall Player of the Year and the Offensive Player of the Year. She has been named to the All NPF team in seven of her eight active seasons, was twice the Home Run Champion (2012, 2013), and is the current Career Home Run leader with 83.
“I am really looking forward to continuing a great working relationship with SWINGRAIL,” commented Wiggins. “I am excited for this partnership and can’t wait to get this product into the hands of more athletes. I think the product is essential for good mechanics and I think every level of athlete can benefit from using it. I am also really humbled that SWINGRAIL will be investing in me as a professional softball player and in our professional league. I can’t thank them enough for their investment.”
SWINGRAIL is a new, innovative swing training aid that connects the bat to the hitter in such a way to guide the hitter’s hands through the most critical phase of the swing. In doing so, the device allows players to actually feel the experience of using correct swing mechanics. The swing trainer is effective in both sports of softball and baseball and in addition to Wiggins and top college softball programs, is currently used by hitting coaches in 12 Major League Baseball organizations.
“It’s truly a privilege for SWINGRAIL to partner with Megan Wiggins and National Pro Fastpitch”, commented owner, Dan Mueller. “On top of being an exciting player and a great representative of our product, Megan is committed to helping young athletes become successful both on and off the field — We couldn’t be more excited!”
The NPF season will feature its Opening Day on May 28 when the Beijing Eagles play host to the Canadian Wild of Southern Illinois. Wiggins and her USSSA Pride teammates will open on June 6 at Rent One Park in Marion, IL when they visit the Canadian Wild and begin their quest to defend both the regular season and Championship Series titles they captured in 2018.
