VIERA, FL. (July 3, 2019) –The Pride are on a hot streak taking the third win of the series from the Beijing Eagles. In tonight’s game the Pride run ruled the Eagles winning 13-0.

The Pride haven’t been holding back this week in the first inning. Pride scored 10 runs on a total of 7 hits and 14 at bats.

Amanda Lorenz opened the game with a bang when she smashed the ball to left field for a leadoff triple. With a throwing error at first, Sydney Romero made it to second scoring Lorenz to give the Pride a 1-0 lead.

Errors and timely hitting by the Pride made for a tough 1st inning for the Beijing Eagles. In the top of the 1st, Wiggins got out hitting a pop fly to right field. Fielder’s choice on Goodacre’s hit, goodacre was safe on first with romero still at third. A wild pitch allowed Goodacre to advance to 2nd and Romero to score.

Bianka Bell hit a frozen rope to shortstop, and the Beijing Eagles made an error which allowed Goodacre to score. Megan Good hit a 3 run homer expanding the Pride’s lead to 6-0. Alex Powers hit a ground ball through the second base gap which kept the hitting streak alive.

Bennett hit a triple scoring Powers, and then Wiggins hit a pop fly to left field and made it to second base scoring another run for the Pride. Pendley pinch ran at second and scored on Goodacre’s line drive off the left center fence. The 1st inning finally came to an end with the Pride up 10-0.

Megan good started the second inning strong with back-to back strikeouts. The final batter in the top of the 2nd grounded out for the Beijing Eagles. Good transferred her momentum on the mound to the plate with a double to kick off the bottom of the 2nd. Unfortunately, the Pride came up empty and the score remained 10-0 after 2.

The Eagles went three up three down in the top of the third and then the Pride began pouring it on in the bottom of the third. Alexa Peterson hit a two run home run scoring Pendley, making the score 12-0 Pride.

Jailyn Ford kept the Beijing Eagles from scoring when she took over the circle at the top of the fourth.
The Pride got back at it in the bottom of the fourth, starting with Good reaching first. The hit fest continued with Powers double to Right Field and an RBI single from Knighten giving the Pride their 13th run of the game.

Ford continued her success in the 5th inning, securing a 13-0 USSSA Pride win and their second run rule of the series.

The Park Planet Player of the game was Megan Good. Good got it done in the circle and up to bat. She pitched two innings had 2 strikeouts. Up to bat she went 1 for 2 with 3 RBIs, a run scored, and a 3 run home run!

Thursday July 4th the Pride take on the Beijing Eagles for game two of the series at 6:30 P.M. ET at the USSSA Space Coast Stadium.
Head down the Space Coast Stadium or tune in tomorrow on for the second game of the series.
