Scrap Yard Dawgs Add Exhibition Games Against Team USA

The Woodlands, TX – January 19, 2016 – The Scrap Yard Dawgs are excited to announce the addition of three exhibition games to the 2016 season against the USA Softball Women’s National Team.
“The 2016 competition schedule is perfect for our objective of winning Gold at the World Championships,” said USA Softball Women’s National Team Head Coach Ken Eriksen.  “The Scrap Yard Dawgs are providing our players with an opportunity to prepare for our international season with some great competition.  Hopefully this opportunity for a great marriage between ownership groups in the NPF will provide a great way for all to enjoy the benefits of a powerful USA Softball program in all facets.”
In their inaugural season the Dawgs will play Team USA in Oklahoma City, OK at the ASA Hall of Fame Complex, at home at The Scrap Yard Sports Complex in The Woodlands, TX and at The Ballpark at Craig Ranch, in McKinney, TX.
In conjunction with the June 16-19 series with the Charge, the NPF expansion team,  Scrap Yard Dawgs have added three games against the Women’s National Team to help Team USA prepare for international competition during the summer.
Dawgs General Manager, Kevin Shelton was pleased about the additions, stating, “It is gratifying to add games against the National Team and have a chance to play them in these three great locations.  Playing an NPF game in OKC is another great way to export our league to new fans and having the opportunity to bring these high quality games to Dallas and Houston is a privilege.  It’s great for our fans and should be a great experience.”

The Dawgs will provide elite softball players the opportunity to pursue a professional career and inspire the next generation of professionals. National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) is headquartered in Nashville, Tenn. The league, created to give elite female fastpitch players the opportunity to pursue a professional career in their chose sport, has operated since 1997 under the names of Women’s Pro Fastpitch (WPF) and Women’s Pro Softball League (WPSL). NPF is the Official Development Partner of Major League Baseball in the category of women’s fastpitch softball and has been since 2002.
