Ricketts Throws One-Hitter In 4-0 Win

Kissimmee, FL – August 15, 2014 – In only her second year of professional softball, USSSA Pride pitcher Keilani Ricketts followed up a spectacular performance by teammate Cat Osterman with a gem of her own in a 4-0 shutout of the Pennsylvania Rebellion Friday at Osceola County Stadium.

Ricketts tossed her third complete game of the season for the Pride and surrendered just one hit, a leadoff single to Pennsylvania infielder and former USSSA teammate Lauren Lappin in the second inning. Rebellion pitcher Bryana Walker was tagged with the loss, as she lasted just two innings, walk one and allowed four runs. Sarah Pauly, who started the game for Pennsylvania tossed four shutout innings of one hit softball from the circle before being lifted for Walker.

Kristyn Sandberg racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Pride as she singled in the fifth inning and homered in the sixth inning.

The Pride broke the scoreless tie in the fifth as RBI singles by Amanda Kamekona and Caitlin Lowe gave the Pride a 2-0 advantage. A two-run blast to straight away center in the bottom of the sixth by Sandberg sealed the victory for the Pride in their last Friday game of the regular season.
