PRIDE DEFEAT COMETS IN FIRST GAME OF SERIES

VIERA, FL (June 18, 2018) – A beautiful night at the USSSA Space Coast Stadium resulted in another win for the Pride.

The Pride took game one of the three-game series against the Cleveland Comets 4-0 and are now 10-0 on the season.

Jaylin Ford got her first start in the circle for the Pride. In her five-inning debut, she only allowed one hit and struck out four.

Ford was the Vaultz Lock It Up Player of the Game for her fabulous debut in the circle with the one hit shut out.

Jolene Henderson came in for the save in the top of the sixth, and didn’t allow any hits and struck out four.

Nicole Pendley and Hallie Wilson got things going for the Pride. It was a scoreless ball game until the bottom of the fourth when Nicole Pendley stepped up to the plate with bases loaded and two-outs.

She came in clutch with a two-RBI single to centerfield which scored Shelby Pendley and Bianka Bell. This was N. Pendley’s first base hit and first RBI in a Pride uniform as a professional player.

Shortly after, Hallie Wilson continued the inning with a standup double down the right field line to score two more for the Pride

N. Pendley and Wilson both went 3-1 with two-RBIs on the night.

The Pride held it down to end the game with the score of 4-0.

The team will take on the Cleveland Comets again June 19, at 7:05 p.m. at the USSSA Space Coast Stadium.
