Nashville, TN (May 15, 2018) National Pro Fastpitch announced the 2018 season of live streaming coverage carried on NPFTV will be free to all viewers. The live action can be easily accessed on the home page of the league website, www.profastpitch.com. Game by game links will also be included on league, team and sponsor social media platforms daily.
NPFTV, the league’s primary streaming platform, was launched in 2016 and enters its third complete season in 2018. The previous two seasons the platform was subscription based. In 2017, fans from over 120 countries viewed live and Video on Demand action throughout the three month season.
“The digital streaming space continues to become more and more populated and that is great news for women’s professional sports,” commented NPF Commissioner, Cheri Kempf. “Removing the pay-wall from NPFTV this season will meet several internal goals of the league that directly address our current five year plan of growing our audience worldwide.”
NPFTV is slated to carry approximately 90 regular season NPF games. Announcements are expected in the coming days regarding additional coverage for 2018 season action, including the 2018 NPF Championship Series.
NPFTV will launch league action beginning with Opening Day 2018 on May 19 with a game featuring the leagues most recent addition, Aussie Spirit, hosting the Beijing Shougang Eagles, a matchup that takes place at Griffon Softball Field on the campus of Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri.
The NPF regular season will include 120 total games in 2018 and will conclude August 12. The 2018 NPF Championship Series takes place this year at The Ballpark at Rosemont, the home of the Chicago Bandits, located in Rosemont, Illinois, August 16-20.
