NPF vs. Team USA Exhibitions Set to Air on ESPN

DENVER – Be sure to tune into ESPN, the Worldwide Leader in Sports, on Sunday, July 25 at 1p.m. (EDT), as the NPF East All-Stars take on Team USA from Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.

The game features the All-Stars from the Akron Racers, New England Riptide and NY/NJ Juggernaut in an exhibition game that took place during the NPF All-Star Break. The game was played as a part of the NPF All-Star Series and Team USA’s Aiming For Athens Tour.

The second game of the doubleheader will be shown during primetime, on Saturday, July 31 at 7p.m. (EDT), and it will feature players from the Texas Thunder, Arizona Heat and California Sunbirds.

The two games will each air a second time, on Sunday, August 8. The games will be shown at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. EDT.

NPF, the world’s premier professional fastpitch softball league for women, consists of six teams located throughout the United States and features former USA Softball Women’s National Team members, collegiate All-Americans and all-conference selections. NPF’s 60-game regular-season schedule begins Tuesday, June 1 and concludes Wednesday, Aug. 18. The 2004 season features the inaugural NPF All-Star Game, the first-ever NPF Championship Semifinal and the first NPF Championship Series.

National Pro Fastpitch is headquartered in Denver, and has been in operation since 1997 under the names Women’s Pro Fastpitch (WPF) and Women’s Professional Softball League (WPSL).
