NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 12, 2019) – Chicago Bandits veteran outfielder and reigning NPF Player of the Year, Brenna Moss, and Official NPF Partner and Supplier, Big League Chew, recently announced an On Player Ad Location (OPAL) partnership for the 2019 National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) season.

Moss is coming off the most successful season of her career in 2018 being named the NPF’s Player of the Year after she tied the league’s single-season hits record at 65 and broke the Bandits franchise record for single-season stolen bases with 27. In addition to POY, Moss also took home the league’s Offensive Player of the Year and Stolen Base Awards. She closed the regular season on a 19 game hit streak and batted .466 across that span.

Moss was drafted by the Bandits in 2015 and signed following a decorated career at Fresno State where she set the career stolen base record with  104. While a Bulldog, in 2014, Moss was named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year. She was a three-time All Mountain West First Team member and a two-time All Pacific Region member.

“I am very excited about this partnership with Big League Chew, especially since they just released their softball pouch,” commented Moss.  “It means the world that they are showing their support for women in sports and I’m honored to wear their logo this summer. The OPAL program has already helped so many athletes in the NPF advance their careers by allowing companies to sponsor a specific individual. I think this is exactly what we need to continue growing. We are not only helping grow the athletes themselves but also involving as many people as we can in our league, to raise awareness and continue pushing in a positive direction.”

Founded by former left-handed pitcher, Rob “Nellie” Nelson, Big League Chew started from humble beginnings in the Portland Mavericks bullpen in 1977. For more than 35 years, the iconic pouches packed with shredded, flavorful bubble gum have become the preferred chewing gum for all ages, having sold more than 800 million pouches to date. Big League Chew made worldwide news in 2019 by launching a pouch for the first time in brand history, featuring a girl softball player.

“Thanks to our friends at National Pro Fastpitch, we had the chance to work with and get to know Brenna at the Sweets and Snacks Expo. We were blown away at how well she personified Big League Chew’s softball pouch and how positively she connected to softball and baseball fans everywhere,” said Steve Greene, Sr. VP, Sales & Marketing at Ford Gum. “She is a great ambassador for NPF and we are over the moon to partner with her on Big League Chew.  Brenna represents all of the young girls who inspired us to create the softball pouch and we’re so excited to support her this season.”

Moss and her Chicago Bandits teammates opened their 2019 season on June 6 against the Cleveland Comets at their home in Rosemont, Illinois, the Park Bank Sports Complex. The 46 game regular season slate will see the Bandits seek their fifth Cowles Cup. Included in the season schedule are two exhibition games against Team USA, slated for this weekend.

National Pro Fastpitch took the field for its 16th season in 2019 when opening day took place on May 28th in Daytona Beach, FL at Jackie Robinson Park, between the Beijing Shougang Eagles and the Canadian Wild of Southern Illinois. The 138 game season will culminate on August 11, followed by the Championship Series August 15-19, which will feature a best-of-five series between the league’s top two teams. The complete regular season will be streamed live in its entirety domestically, exclusively on Flo Softball.
