Los Angeles, CA (March 4, 2020) – The California Commotion announced the addition of Mandie Perez to the 2020 roster on Wednesday.

Perez (Whittier, CA), a former fourth-round draft pick of the USSSA Pride in 2017, returns to National Pro Fastpitch after being away for two years.

The former Wildcat was a four-time All-Pac-12 performer at the University of Arizona from 2013-17 (medical redshirt in 2014). As a senior, Perez reached base safely in 55 of Arizona’s 61 games. She scored a run and recorded a hit in 45 games.

Throughout her career in Tucson, Perez saw time in the outfield, on second base and as a designated player.

“I am so excited to get the opportunity, to not only represent my home state at the professional level but to compete at the highest level again,” Perez said. “I am so blessed to be on this year’s roster, help grow our sport and pave the way for young softball players with so many other female athletes. I hope to make an impact in the NPF and help in growing the future of our sport.”

“Mandie is a dynamic and energetic athlete.  She brings tremendous experience from Arizona and travel ball.  She is extremely versatile, quick and gritty as an athlete and I’m so happy to have her join the Commotion family, ” said Kirk Walker, Head Coach and Assistant GM.

On March 30, the Commotion will participate in their first NPF College Draft, where the team will attempt to complement the existing roster with drafted college rookies. As the league’s newest franchise, the Commotion will not only make the first pick of the 2020 Draft, but will also make the first pick in all five Draft rounds.

The Commotion will open their season on April 17th against the Canadian Wild of Southern Illinois at Fresno State University.
