ROSEMONT, Ill. — The Chicago Bandits have signed Team USA infielder Hannah Flippen to a one-year contract, team officials announced Tuesday afternoon.

Flippen, the 17th overall selection in the fourth round of the 2017 NPF Draft, boasts NPF experience on her playing resume, as well as considerable experience on the international stage with Team USA.

“We are thrilled to welcome Hannah to Rosemont for the 2019 season,” Bandits general manager Toni Calmeyn said. “We can’t wait to see her contribute to our lineup this summer.”

Over the course of her career for USA Softball, Flippen captured a silver medal at the 2017 World Cup of Softball, a gold at the 2017 Pan American Championship and a bronze at the 2018 USA Softball International Cup. The former University of Utah standout hit at a .609 clip and delivered a tournament-best 20 RBI during Team USA’s bronze-medal finish.

While at Utah, Flippen became the first three-time NFCA All-American in program history, as well as the first Ute to earn All-Pac-12 honors four times. The Bonita, California, native holds program records for career runs, hits and batting average.

At the conclusion of her historic career in Salt Lake City, Flippen became the first player in the history of the conference to capture the Pac-12 Softball Player of the Year award and Defensive Player of the Year honors in the same season.

The four-time Cowles Cup champion Chicago Bandits will be back at Parkway Bank Sports Complex for the 2019 season. For more information about the Chicago Bandits or to reserve your season tickets, please visit chicagobandits.com or call the box office at 877-722-6348.
