ROSEMONT, IL (April 14, 2020) – The Chicago Bandits have agreed to terms with Hannah Flippen on a one-year contract extension for the 2020 NPF season, team officials announced Tuesday afternoon.
Flippen is coming back for her second season in Rosemont after a career showing in 2019, posting 8 home runs and 27 RBI, good for a .375 on-base percentage and a .566 slugging percentage. Her success didn’t stop at the plate – on the field, she held a .972 fielding percentage with career bests in put-outs and assists.
“Having Hannah back in Rosemont is definitely exciting,” Bandits AGM Jourdan Skirha said. “She brought so much skill and energy to this team last summer, and we can’t wait to see her in action in 2020.”
With considerable experience on the international stage with Team USA, Flippen came off an All-NPF selection year and earned a roster spot for the Olympic games in Tokyo, which will now take place in 2021.
Over her career with USA Softball, Flippen earned gold at the 2017 Pan American Championship, silver at the 2017 World Cup of Softball, and bronze at the 2018 USA Softball International Cup.
In her time at University of Utah, Flippen was the first player to earn NFCA All-American honors three times, as well as the first four-time All-Pac-12 honoree.
Flippen is nothing short of excited to return to the turf in Rosemont.
“I am so pumped to be back in Rosemont this summer,” Flippen said in a statement. “I want to thank the Mayor, the front office and the coaching staff for the opportunity to play the sport that I love, in a city and atmosphere that is unmatched.
“Being a Bandit has already been a phenomenal experience, and I can’t wait to continue that experience with teammates new and old. Go Bandits, baby!”
Flippen and the Bandits will return to Rosemont for their season opener on June 10 against NPF newcomers, the California Commotion. Tickets are available online at chicagobandits.com or through our ticket office at 877-722-6348.
