NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 22, 2019)– Aleshia Ocasio and HitTrax agreed to an On Player Ad Location (OPAL) activation that will pair the two for the 2019 season.
The OPAL program was launched by the league in December and designed specifically to subsidize player salaries with at least 90% of the revenue paid directly to the athletes themselves. The OPAL program clears the way for individuals and companies to directly support the efforts of players to continue their professional careers.
Ocasio, the #10 overall draft selection by the Bandits in 2018, performed well in her inaugural season as a rookie, racking up the Rawlings Rookie of the Week in week 5 of the 2018 schedule and following that with the Vaultz® Lock it Up Player of the Game just a week later on June 25. Ocasio is a familiar face to softball fans coming out of the nationally recognized University of Florida softball program as a decorated two-time All American, where the versatile pitcher/utility player helped the Gators capture the Women’s College World Series title in 2015. In that same year, she helped the Puerto Rican National Team win a bronze medal at the Pan American Games.
“I am excited about this partnership with HitTrax and their technology that brings all facets of softball to a new level,” commented Ocasio. “The metrics and visuals that HitTrax provides will give me an edge in my training as I prepare for upcoming seasons with both the Chicago Bandits and the Puerto Rican National Team. I also know HitTrax will be an asset to my coaching and training of youth and college players, regardless of what position they play.”
HitTrax is the world leader in enhanced training & simulation in the softball and baseball industries. By providing instantaneous feedback, key performance metrics, and in-depth analysis tools, HitTrax enables a one-of-a-kind experience that fosters player engagement and a meaningful connection with instruction.
“We are thrilled to welcome Aleshia to our team as a HitTrax Athlete & our partner in the OPAL program,” said HitTrax Director of Softball Operations, Elena Bowman. “Aleshia is a terrific role model, ambassador, and competitor who impacts the game as a player and as a coach. We are excited about all the work we can accomplish with Aleshia on board, and we look forward to supporting her in the upcoming NPF season!”
The Chicago Bandits will open their season on June 6 in Rosemont against the Cleveland Comets. Their 46 game regular season schedule will also culminate in Rosemont when the Bandits wrap up on August 11 against the USSSA Pride. Tickets are currently on sale for all Chicago home games at .
