Akron Racers Shake Up the 2013 NPF Draft Order

Akron, OH—Akron Racers, Pres/GM, Joey Arrietta announced today that the Racers have dealt the first selection in the second round (5th overall) to the USSSA Pride for the 8th,12th, 16th and 17th picks overall. The four-for-one swap gives the Racers six picks in the top 17 players in this year’s draft.
“We retained the #1 pick overall and our 9th pick giving us three selections in the Top 9. We came into the draft with only three picks and we needed to get ourselves in a better position to grab some additional spots. We accomplished that with this trade,” commented Arrietta. “We have critical spots to fill and I believe there are collegiate players that can literally walk off the collegiate field and onto the pro diamond and produce at a high level.”
