National Pro Fastpitch, formerly the Women’s Pro Softball League, is a fastpitch softball league created to provide elite female athletes an opportunity to compete at the professional level.

The league is comprised of six fastpitch teams across the United States, from California to Massachusetts. NPF will begin its first season on June 1, 2004. Below are profiles on each of the six NPF teams:


Ballpark: Firestone Stadium, capacity 2,500

Home Opener: Saturday, June 5 at 7:05pm vs. New England Riptide

Manager: A former catcher for the Connecticut Falcons in the 1960s and 70s, Judy Martino is also one of the most instrumental and original founders of what is known as the Fast Pitch Coaching Association. She served as executive director from 1983-1987. She is one of the only coaches who started and remained in the league with stints for the Carolina Diamonds, Durham Dragons and Ohio Pride.
