Bandits Cruise to 9-1 Win

LISLE, Ill. - Chicago brought the bats again tonight racking up a total of 13 hits en route to beating team China 9-1. Gina Oaks (3-3) took the mound for the orange and black while Zhou Yin started in the circle for China.

In similar fashion to their previous meetings, the Bandits jumped on the board in the first. With two down, Kristie Fox hit a shot down the leftfield line for a single. Fox eventually made it home off of a single up the middle by Jaime Clark to give the Bandits their first run of the night.

China finally broke through the Bandit defense to score their first run of the series in the fourth. Di Wu singled through the left side and advanced to third on a hit and an error. Wu stole home and scored China’s only run of the night.

The Bandits answered back in the form of a Jaime Clark homerun in the bottom half of the inning. Gina Oaks followed with a single up the middle. Speedy Autumn Champion was put in to pinch run for Oaks and stole second. Megan Willis popped out to left allowing Champion to advance 60 feet to third. An RBI single by Laura Harms scored Champion.

Chicago lit up the scoreboard in the fifth and sixth bringing five more runs across the plate making the final score 9-1.

Don’t miss the electrifying finale against these two teams tomorrow night at 7:05 pm.
