Harre's No Hitter Heat Melts Michigan Ice

Game Box Score

Lisle, Ill. – The Chicago Bandits were looking to get back on track tonight against the Michigan Ice, after only winning one game against the USA World University Team last weekend. Amy Harre started on the mound for the Bandits this evening. Harre’s ERA of 1.15 currently leads the NPF.

The Bandits were very productive with the bats in the bottom of the second inning, hitting three doubles and scoring 5 runs. Nicole Trimboli started it off by showing her patience and taking a walk. Amanda Williams followed by drilling a double
to left center allowing Trimboli to advance to third base. Mackenzie Vandergeest took a free pass to first base on a walk, loading the bases for the Bandits. Gina Oaks got in on the action by ripping a double to right, scoring both Trimboli and Williams and advancing Vandergeest to third.

Laura Harms shot a mile high sacrifice fly to right, bringing Vandergeest home and moving Oaks up to third. Anne Steffan hit a hot shot to left and was able to advance to an unmanned second base, turning her single into a double. Jaime Clark popped a sacrifice fly up to right; Oaks scored. Because of a wild throw by Michigan’s third baseman, Steffan was able to make it home on the play as well. The Bandit’s bats were still blazing hot heading into the bottom of the fourth. Oaks led off with a walk. Harms laid down the sacrafice bunt, advancing Oaks to second. Clark hit a roper to left, bringing Oaks home and adva ncing Harms to second. Trena Peel doubled to left center and brought in both Harms and Clark.

The Michigan Ice could never get anything going on offense due to an incredible pitching effort by Amy Harre. This was Harre’s first no hitter in a Bandit uniform. The Bandits defeated the Ice 9-0, bringing their record to 24-6 on the season and strengthening their number one standing in the NPF.
