Bandits Strike a Pose with United States Coast Guard

ROSMEONT, Ill. -- Taryne Mowatt, Megan Wiggins, Dorian Shaw and the rest of the Bandits team visited members of the United States Coast Guard earlier in the week in preparation for announcement of a new partnership. Members of the USCG and Chicago Bandits teamed up for a photo shoot, showing off both their uniforms while striking a pose with USCG boats and helicopters.

In addition to the photo shoot and poster, the Bandits and U.S. Coast Guard are pleased to announce a new partnership that will give all current and past military personnel -- from all branches of the armed services -- complimentary tickets to all Chicago Bandits home games during the 2011 season.

The Bandits and USCG are also teaming up on July 1 for “First Responders Night” at Rosemont Stadium. First Responders night will feature special camouflage jerseys with the USCG logo that will be auctioned off during the game.

"We are truly excited to partner up with the Chicago Bandits, a winning team that succeeds through professionalism and teamwork, a lot like the women and men of the United States Coast Guard,” said USCG Chief Brian Casetta.

The photos are being used in a poster to be given away to the first 300 fans through the gate on First Responders NIght, July 1.

“Partnering with a recognized branch of the armed services like the U.S. Coast Guard is a great opportunity and a no brainier for the Bandits,” said Bandits GM Aaron M. Moore. “These men and women put their lives on the line for our country every day and deserve to be recognized and honored. The least we can do is entertain them and provide an exciting night at the Bandits.”

To get the complimentary ticket, courtesy of the U.S. Coast Guard, women and men previously or currently in any of the armed services just need to visit the Bandits front office (9507 W. Higgins Road) with an ID card. Tickets can also be picked up at the box office window on the day of games, however early redemption is encouraged.

Fans at the ballpark will notice Bandits’ mascot Outlaw with a new jersey for the 2011 season. The back of the his personal jersey features the U.S. Coast Guard logo as he was born ready to entertain the crowd.

In addition, the Chicago Bandits will be featuring a “Shipmate of the Week” through social media sites Facebook and Twitter, giving extra honor to each Shipmate.
