North Davidson High School to host National Pro Fastpitch Series

Nashville, TN-  National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) announced today that an NPF Series will be held July 26th-28th at North Davidson High School in Lexington, NC.   Hosted by North Davidson High School Softball Team and SanBill Academy, the match-up will feature the NPF Diamonds and the Chicago Bandits in a four game regular season series between the two teams.

“We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to host an NPF series right here at North Davidson High School. We are anxious to bring this professional softball experience to the softball players and fans in North Carolina", stated SanBill Academy owner, Billy Gerald.

The Teams will play four games during the three-day period with games beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Tuesday July 26th. Wednesday July 27th slates double header action with games scheduled for 5:30 and 7:30 p.m., and Thursday July 28th the final game of the series will take place at 7:00 p.m.  Tickets are on-sale for the series with an All-Session pass for $32.00, Single Game Tickets for Tuesday and Thursdays games for $10 each, and Wednesday’s double-header for $15.00.

North Carolina fans will be able to welcome back one of their own, as ---- High School and UNC's, Brittany McKinney will return to town as a professional athlete, having recently been added to the roster of the NPF Diamonds. McKinney will be joined by other high profile athletes on both teams, including Monica Abbott (2008 Olympic silver medalist),  Vicky Galindo (2008 Olympic silver medalist), Caitlin Lever (2008 Canadian Olympian), Taryne Mowatt (2-time ESPY Award winner), and Megan Gibson (USA Softball Player of the Year Finalist- 2008).
Abbott, Galindo, Lever, and Mowatt all play for the Chicago Bandits. Gibson, a member of the NPF Diamonds, led Texas A&M to the finals of the 2008 Women's College World Series and is the only Player to garner both Big 12 Pitcher and Player of the Year honors.
