Pauly, Brilliant Shuts Out Racers in 5-0 Win

Box Score

USSSA Pride 5, Akron Racers 0

Kissimmee, FL--
The USSSA Pride continued their hot winning streak on Saturday night, beating the Racers 5-0, winning their 15th game in a row bringing their record for the season to 22-7, remaining atop the NPF Standings. Sarah Pauly would be sent to pitch for the Pride to continue her brilliant work on the mound this season, and she would do just that, shutting out the Racers to earn her second win of the season. Bringing her record to 2-2 on the season. Toni Paisley would be sent to the mound for the Racers but would not last long, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs in two and a third innings.

The Pride would paint the board first in the 3rd inning as they brought eight batters to the plate. Caitlin Lowe would single and Jessica Mendoza would follow with a deep home run over the center field wall, giving the Pride a 2-0 lead. Charlotte Morgan would then come up and reach base following an error by the Racers’ pitcher Toni Paisley. Francesca Enea singled to left on the very next pitch and that would bring up Ashley Charters who would rip a double down the left field line scoring Morgan, giving the Pride a 3-0 lead and hitting Toni Paisley right out of the game. Kristina Thorson would be brought in relief and would get the final two outs to end the inning.

The Pride would go on to score a run in each of the next two innings en route to their 15th win in a row. Toni Paisley would get the loss, which would be her 1st loss of the season, leaving her record at 1-1 and bringing the Racers to 16-15. Sarah Pauly would go on to pitch a spectacular game as she pitched a complete game shut out, giving up 3 hits, walking one and striking out 4.

The USSSA Pride will continue in their final home games in Florida against the Akron Racers at ESPN Wide World of Sports tomorrow night, Saturday, July 30th at 7:05PM. For more information visit usssapride.com.
