Q: The Diamonds are hitting the road this summer to many different locations...what are you most looking forward to in being on the road?
Findlay: I am excited to travel around the country and get to experience different venues and to help the
NPF expand its fan base to different parts of the country. It’s always exciting to travel to new places and to help promote the sport of softball and this League.
Q: You were able to play with your sister last year in Chicago, what did that mean to you to be able to play with her again following your years at Michigan?
Findlay: Having the opportunity to play with my sister last year in Chicago was incredible. Only a handful of girls can say that they played with their sister at every level from travel, high school, college, and pro. It was a great experience to share and it meant a lot to have the chance to play with her again.
Q: If you could have lunch with three people who would they be and why?
Findlay: Abraham Lincoln: Growing up in Illinois, I find him to be a fascinating person in the history of our country. Mark Zuckerberg: Who wouldn’t want to meet the man who enhanced and changed the
world of social networks forever?! Oprah Winfrey: She has been such an influential woman in so many ways and I believe she is full of great knowledge that she could share!
Q: What player or players are you most looking forward to competing against?
Findlay: I would have to say the person I am most looking forward to competing against would have to be my sister. I have played with her at every level but have never played against her in a game. Also, I am looking forward to playing against all the players in the NPF as it is an extremely talented League compromised of the best players and competition in the world.
Q: What have you been doing this off-season to prepare for the 2011 NPF Season?
Findlay: To prepare for this upcoming season, I have been practicing both the physical and mental aspect of the game. Also, I have spent time coaching a 14U team which is always exciting and always
helps remind me of why I continue to play and that would be to help this game and League grow so that young girls will have the same opportunity to play after college as we currently have.
Q: If you were on a deserted island, what five things would you bring with you?
Findlay: Bubble Gum, an endless supply of Starbucks Iced Green Tea Lemonade, raft, flash light, and my iPhone with a solar powered battery!
Q: Describe the NPF fan base and how important they are as the NPF continues to grow.
Findlay: The NPF fan base is extremely important as the NPF continues to grow. The fans are what help the sport and League continue to grow. The current NPF fan base is supportive in every way. Also, I think one of the unique aspects of the League is the opportunity for fans to get to know players on a personal basis. Also unique is the chance for NPF fans to interact with players at after-game autograph sessions and many other promotional events.
Q: Name the last three songs on your IPOD.
Findlay: A little bit stronger by Sara Evans, Tomorrow by Chris Young, Dirt Road Anthem by Jason Aldean
Q: Where is your favorite place to visit and why?
Findlay: Ann Arbor, MI because I got to spend four amazing years there and got to meet many new people and made memories that will last a lifetime.
