Softball battles the NPF All-Stars in the 'Back to School - College Tour'

AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas Softball will face its toughest competition of the fall on Sunday, Nov. 7 when the Longhorns battle the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) All-Stars at Red & Charline McCombs Field as part of The NPF "Back to School - College Tour." The tour is stopping at 18 universities throughout the fall to raise the profile of the game of softball and give the All-Stars a chance to return to the universities where they experienced so much success as collegians. The NPF All-Star team is highlighted by former Longhorns greats Cat Osterman, Megan Willis and Loryn Johnson.

Osterman and Willis are coming off back-to-back NPF Championships with the Rockford Thunder in 2009 and USSSA Florida Pride this season. The Longhorns are coming off a Big 12 Championship of their own. Following the game, both teams will be signing autographs for fans. First pitch of the game is slated for 6 p.m. Central

Texas Softball is holding its inaugural alumni game on Saturday, Oct. 23 at Red & Charline McCombs field. An all-time high of 31 former Longhorns will be coming back for this game including Osterman, Willis and Johnson. Continue to check for more information regarding the alumni game.
