Kissimmee, Fl – The Rockford Thunder (17-16) lead the series 2-1 against the USSSA Pride (12-21) after a 3-0 win on Friday night.
The Thunder scored all three of their runs in the top of the third. Megan Willis lead off the inning with a single. Lyndsey Angus would then lay down a sacrifice to move Willis over to second. Chelsie Mesa would then single to center field. With runners on the corners Mesa would steal second. Leadoff hitter Shanel Scott would walk to load the bases. Sarah Pauley who picked up a victory in game one of the series would then walk Jenna Rhodes scoring Willis. Amanda Williams single to left center would give the Thunder a 2-0 lead. Chelsea Spencer would then cap 3 run third inning with an RBI single scoring Scott.
Rookie Samantha Sheeley (3-3) picked up the win for Rockford allowing only 3 hits in the contest while striking out six.
