ROSEMONT, Ill. – Chicago Bandits GM, Aaron M. Moore announced the re-signing of catcher Jenna Grim today for the upcoming 2012 season.
“We are excited to have Jenna back in a Bandits uniform,” said Moore. “She was definitely an asset for us in 2011 with the injuries and changes we had to make, and she has been great in helping promote the team in various offseason camps, clinics and appearances.”
After an injury at the catcher position to veteran Rachel Folden in the middle of the 2011 season, the Bandits looked to Grim who had made an impression at open tryouts. Signing as a rookie free agent, Grim finished the 2011 season with a .417 slugging percentage and a .292 on-base percentage.
“I’m very grateful for the opportunity to continue playing for the Bandits and being a part of a great organization,” said Grim. “I’m looking forward to another successful and exciting season playing with and against such talented female athletes.”
Originally from Beecher, Ill., Grim spent her collegiate career at Loyola University in Chicago where she played for former Bandits pitcher Missy Beseres. She concluded her college career ranked second on Loyola’s career home run list with 31 and fifth all-time with 87 RBIs. She recently agreed to become a volunteer assistant with Loyola.
