ROSEMONT, Ill. - July 11, 2014 - Game two of the series started off much the same way as game one with a classic pitcher’s duel between the Bandits Michelle Gascoigne and the Rebellion’s Angel Bunner.

Neither starting pitcher gave up a run through the first three innings, each only allowing four hits.

Tammy Williams looked like she might take the lead as not only the Bandits top home run hitter, but the league’s as well with her towering fly ball to the right field wall in the top of the second but it landed just short of the fence, still good enough for a triple. However, the Rebellion was able to get themselves out of the inning unharmed still tied at zero as the game moved to the third.

The Bandits threatened in the bottom of the third loading the bases after Megan Wiggins was hit by  a Bunner pitch but again the Rebellion were able to get themselves out of the inning as Kristen Butler grounded out to third.

It was Brittany Cervantes, Alisa Goler and Kaylyn Castillo who got things going again in the fourth as all three players singled, bringing Amber Patton to the plate. Her RBI single brought in the first run of the game for the Bandits as Cervantes crossed home to the put the Bandits up 1-0.

Pennsylvania grabbed the lead in the top of the fifth as Bianca Mejia blasted a two run shot to the Party Deck in left field. Those were the only runs the Bandits defense would allow as the game headed to the bottom of the fifth with the Rebellion down 2-1.

The Rebellion looked they might add three more runs in the sixth but RT Cantillo made a web gem worthy catch in right field to prevent them from increasing the lead.

Down to their final three outs in the bottom of the seventh, Emily Allard led the Bandits off with a single to left. Danielle Zymkowitz followed that up with a sac bunt of her own and was safe at first off a Rebellion error, bringing Megan Wiggins to the plate. Her double plated Allard to tie things up at two but Bandits hitter were unable to add any more offense as the game headed to extras.

Pitching changes for both teams brought Ellen Renfroe into the circle for the Bandits while the Rebellion called right hander, Anna Miller came on in relief for the Rebellion.

It was the Bandits who came out on top in the ninth as Megan Wiggins tripled to start the inning, eventually coming around to score the game winner on a walk-off sac fly by Kristen Butler as the Bandits took the extra inning game, 3-2.

Ellen Renfroe picked up the win tonight, not allowing any runs and just two hits in her two innings of relief while Miller suffered the loss. She gave up the game winning run, while allowing two hits in her 1.1 innings pitched.

The Bandits look to make it three in a row tomorrow, Saturday, July 12 against the Rebellion. First pitch is scheduled for 8:35 p.m. EDT/7:35 p.m. CDT.
