Chicago Bandits to Host Holiday Camp on Dec. 30

 
ROSEMONT, Ill. – November 12, 2013 - The Chicago Bandits announced plans today for a trio of Holiday Clinic sessions that will be held at The Dome at the Ballpark (34 Jennie Finch Way, Rosemont, IL) on Monday, December 30, 2013.
 
The Bandits will offer three different sessions starting with an agility camp at 1 p.m.  The hour long session will include drills to improve foot speed and overall quickness.  The drills will be designed for easy incorporation into daily practices, games or workouts. 
 
The agility clinic is open to both males and females and participants must be at least 10 years old.  The cost of the agility session will be $30/person.
 
Starting at 2:30 p.m. the Bandits will offer a skills camp for softball players of all ability and will be open to girls ages 10-18.  The player’s camp will be led by Bandits Head Coach Mike Steuerwald, as well as couple of Bandits players and will take players through a variety of drills.  Players will be broken up by ability in order to get the most out of the camp.
 
The player’s clinic will be $120/person and the registration fee includes three hours of instruction, a clinic t-shirt, pack of trading cards and a complimentary ticket to Opening Night 2014.
 
Finally, at 6:30 p.m. the Bandits will offer a Coaches Clinic.  The Coaches Clinic will run from 6:30 – 9 p.m. at The Dome and will be led by some of the areas best instructors, including Bandits players Tammy Williams and Amber Patton, Purdue Assistant Coach JT Gasso, 4-time IHSA Coach of the Year Kevin Hayhurst and Division I softball umpire Eric Mandley.

Since 2005, the Chicago Bandits have been members of National Pro Fastpitch.  Located in the Chicagoland area, the Bandits provide an opportunity for female fastpitch players to further their careers at a professional level.  The roster has included such names as Jennie Finch, Stacy May and Monica Abbott.  The two-time NPF Champions play at The Ballpark at Rosemont, the only stadium in the country built for a women’s professional team.
 
National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) is headquartered in Nashville, Tenn.  The league, created to give elite female fastpitch players the opportunity to pursue a professional career in their chosen sport, has operated since 1997 under the names of Women’s Pro Fastpitch (WPF) and Women’s Pro Softball League (WPSL).  NPF is the Official Development Partner of Major League Baseball in the category of women’s fastpitch softball and has been since 2002.
